Forums - Sales - Is the Wii bubble About to Burst?

The price factor hasn't worked out so well for the 360 in Europe. As far as I can tell, dropping to Wii level pricing has had zero impact on Wii sales.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

Haha!  Sounds like a Animal Planet documentary!

I live in Australia and it is cool not to work lol. I use my social welfare money to buy PS3 games and play PS3 all day as well as post on gaming forums at night time lol.

Looking back at these threads its just funny these posts are outdated in only in span of few months. The Wii was still selling, selling with holiday rates even its non holiday season, Wii fit a phenomenal hit and 20+ million sellers half of it are third parties. So whats the wii bubble burst we're talking about?

Yea! I was wondering what the creator of this thread was smokin until I saw the original date.

For the sake of gaming we all hope the Wii's bubble will burst as soon as the PS3's price falls closer to the Wii in price. it will be game on. The tide could turn and the PS3 may even come back and win this generation.

Why? Does the Wii bother you? Does it offend you? Does the Wii wither away at your HD ego?

Can you give me one valid explanation supported by logic and reason why bursting the Wii bubble is a benefit to the gaming industry?

Wii has the price advantage over the PS3. If PS3 and Wii were at same price of $250US PS3 would easily beat the Wii in console numbers. Wii at $250US compared to the PS3 $400-$500US. It is a huge advantage to the Wii.

If the PS3 was $250 then they would lose so much money or the PS3 wouldn't be the same console as it is now. Blu ray gone. Cell gone. HD graphics gone. Then what would you have. The Wii without the controller. So that argument is ....failed.

It would not matter what the console would be like. if it has Play station or Sony's name on it, it is a must buy for me.

While I have no problem with you or your statement, I find it kind of scary that people will assume quality just based on a product name. I don't think I ever could buy anything that cost several hundred dollars without heavily researching it. Hell, I traditionally bought Nintendo systems in the past, but I waited nearly a year to get a Wii, because I was on the fence. I was even kinda iffy at the time of purchase, but the system proved itself to me. Unless you're rich, don't go buy stuff blindly, or you'll be in the poorhouse. =)

It's bursting all right, into an explosion of sales.

I don't own either 6 consoles/handhelds. I have all but a PSP for direct access. I do, however, love Mario Kart Wii, Brawl and Bowling. Can't say I play much else, other than Sim City 4 right now.

BoomBlox intrigues me.

Numbers: Checker Players > Halo Players

Checkers Age and replayability > Halo Age and replayability

Therefore, Checkers > Halo

So, Checkers is a better game than Halo.

Damned socialist country. It's same here in Sweden, easy to sit with welfare and not do anything lol. But it's kinda cool to be able to just hang around at home and play games.

Now, Rock on is a MS hater, so obviously he will choose the PS brand, since I suppose he wants high tech on a console and HD gaming. It's the same for me, only that I prefer Xbox.

It's amazing that a person of your caliber could possibly have his mind closed toward fun gaming, rather than just Sony gaming.

Personally, I think there is some question as to whether you can be a (hard)core gamer without playing, or better yet, owning, the Wii.  I've been gaming since the Atari, online gaming since QuakeWorld and Kali.  I may only own a 360/Wii/DS this generation, but I think the Wii is, by far, the most fun.
