Forums - Microsoft - Bonus Round: Microsoft at E3

Here's the latest Bonus Round in which Jeff Keighley (Host), Andy McNamara (Game Informer), Brian Crecente (Kotaku), and N'Gai Croal (Consultant) talk about E3.  The second half of the video deals with Microsoft (Sony and Microsoft segments coming in the next two weeks).

I watched the video a few hours ago but here's some of what I remember getting from it...

- Microsoft saved all their game announcements after Halo 3: ODST for E3

- They expect Peter Molyneux to reveal his new game

- They expect the motion control hardware that has been discussed

- They think Microsoft is not as focused on games as Sony or Nintendo and expect 3rd parties to fill the gap

- They think Microsoft has their work cut out for them in they want to beat Sony's presentation

- They don't seem too enthusiatic about Nintendo's presentation

- Microsoft has been keeping their cards close to them, even from journalists

- Microsoft has been playing up Spinter Cell: Conviction big time

- They may show what they're planning for the Halo franchise after Halo 3: ODST

- Some of them expect new services for the console

MS will straighten Live with more software such as Hulu, they may focus on social networking and bring us more Halo.

Hulu would kill their Netflix deal and kill their own movie and Tv show store

- They don't expect that MS will cut the price of Xbox live.

With not announcing much games the last months MS has an easy card to show a good/great conference at E3.

i said it before what microsoft closely they are up to no good hahahahaha, to quite and i think this is how it should be let E3 be where the showstoppers come out,
services, games announcements and specials abound.SHOCK AND AWE!sony will show some more stuff, they have shown alot so how much more can they have?nintendo is very silent also so watch out all. june can,t come soon enough

If they halved the cost of Live i'd be really happy.

Basically what I got out of this roundtable was none of these guys have any clue what MS is planning, so they were stuck talking about general rumours and trying to guess from those rumours.

The one thing they all agreed on was that MS hasn't been talking to anyone about anything.

I predict a huge E3 for MS far more than what these guys are expecting.

You need a network enabled device with browser capabilities and last I check that is not part of the xbox 360's set up so Hulu is definately out of the question.

Same with Netflix video on demand.....

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
