The year after launch through spring/summer the DS was around 20-40k a week in Japan. The fact that the Wii is "down" to this level is hardly a big concern for long term sales considering where the DS is now. But as I am sure you are ignoring ALL consoles/handhelds have had issues the past few weeks. Big titles have helped others out and back on track this last week but its still to early to say this is going to be a long term trend. And the Wii is still outselling the PS3 by double in Japan and similar or better situations are in the other regions so I don't think when comparing it to the other consoles these are really bad numbers.

I see this as a reason to keep an eye out for a developing trend and certainly not a good thing, but nothing to cry over and nothing for Wii naysayers to jump up and down about.

Mehh, always knew Wii sales would not last so long. Japan first Europe next then Na, lol its following the sun rise.

It will come done to games it always does, the one with the best and most games will win.

 BTW, I think this is more of a case of Sony doing really really good with the PSP rather then Nintendo doing awful.

The Wii is in a slump, just as every other console except the PSP. In case anyone hasn't noticed, it's still selling more than the PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 combined. Slow all across the board, but the PSP's insane surge with Crisis Core is making it seem worse than it is.

I love it when someone does that.

 Honestly, tell us ONE other console in the history of this industry that started really good like the Wii (although Wii isn't just good - it's exceptional) and ended up lagging behind. There hasn't been one. EVER.
