Forums - Microsoft - How to put videos and other files ONTO 360 harddrive?

So I have a friend wanting me to put some videos and music onto his 360 for him since he doesn't have an internet connection. But after about a hour of trying stuff out, it seems to me that you can only stream to the 360, not actually copy media onto the 360 harddrive...

Any help?

Plug an MP3 (iPod/Zune/Generic) player into it with the files on it..

also you can rip music CD's to the 360..

So you can actually copy the files that way?

I tried Zune, WMP 11, and Windows Media Center, but all they could do is stream.

The whole point in going through those programs was to avoid having to use burnable media storage, don't want to waste CDs or DVDs

Music CD's or burned MP3 discs.

Zune should work perfect, never had a problem transferring music even with a generic MP3 player..

Alright thanks, its too bad the 360 isn't as user friendly as the PS3, piece of cake to get anything on it.

yeah my zune is easy to transfer music but im sure any device will work

Long Live SHIO!

You can copy music from cd/usb to the 360 but everything else is just streamed from a pc, the 360 was designed to be an "extender" so will not let you store movies and photos onto it,

I stream videos from my computer to my 360 using TVersity.

You can just use Windows Media Centre to steam, but obviously that is not an option. Can you not just plug in a USB stick?
