Forums - Gaming - IGN.com logo on gameboxes.

Have you been interested in buying a videogame and when you go to buy it, the game case has a logo right on the front from a videogame site with a few words of accolades bestow on the game? I bought Patapon 2 recently, and the original cover for the SCEA release never had the ign.com logo on it, but it does now. What was surprising was that I saw the box for Patapon 1 at the store, and the cover has been reprinted to have the ign.com logo on it as well. I own the original printing of Patapon 1 and it never had the ign.com logo on it. Nor did it reference Patapon 1 as ign's game of 2008 on the game case.

I hate the fact videogame companies put accolades from gaming sites on their game cases. Yes, printing that information on the game case may help push sales of that game.
I just don’t find it necessary to put logos of companies that never paid to have that game created and manufactured on the game case. On posters and ads, I think should be the only place that companies should put accolades from gaming websites on.

IGN probably requires or requests the logo be put on there...

...in return for good review?

jk

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Maybe advertising for a good review score?

just to let people know the game is good. the more logos the better the game

I thought this was referring to the Okami Wii release fiasco

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
