This kindof sucks if you in the NorthEast like I am and have dreams of working with tech companies. It's almost like the Northeast has the banks and other type of manufacturing but Apple, M$, Sony, Nintendo, Sega etc. all have their headquarters on the West. And Bethesda Softworks is software not hardware so that doesn't count.

If you read the Wikipedia article it basically explains why it became a hub for tech companies. I'm surprised though that MIT didn't create a rival for it on the East coast.

Well I think around the North East there are a lot of Engineering and Research Chemistry companies. But not computational tech.

IBM, AMD (and/or ATI), Nvidia, Intel. Correct me if I'm wrong but their branches are all on the West too.
