Though maybe is not meant to be funny but I have a strage sense of humour.
The first thing to highlight is that Hale is the best character simply because he lives in denial and actually thinks stuff like witchcraft is real.
Also there is an epic part at the end of act two when everybody starts accusing others of being with the devil.It should be something like"I SO GOODY something with the devil"

I've read Death of a Salesman, but I still need to read The Crucible.

As someone who's done the Crucible to death at school and college over the years (as well as acted in it) I truly fail to see any amusing side of it. It's a disturbing allegory of McCarthy era communist 'witch hunts' and ends with a depressing act of self-sacrifice.
Remember, witches are metaphors for communists. Then it gets even funnier. Wait'll you get to the ending. It'll crack you up something fierce!
I've never read the Crucible, in fact it's been a while since I've last read a book, I need to read one, possibly when I go back to the U.S.

I hated that book... Along with most others I've been forced to read in high school. The Heart of Darkness and My Antonia are probably the worst though. I don't remember much about The Crucible anymore, except that I really hated Abigail.
