3do the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2003. the company's game brands and other intellectual properties were sold to rivals like Microsoft, Namco, Crave, and Ubisoft, and also to founder Trip Hawkins who paid $405,000 for rights to some older brands and the company's "Internet patent portfolio". never going to happen

Yeah, but did the 3DO company themselves made any games?

Intellectual property (IP) are legal property rights over creations of the mind, both artistic and commercial, and the corresponding fields of law.[1] Under intellectual property law, owners are granted certain exclusive rights to a variety of intangible assets, such as musical, literary, and artistic works; ideas, discoveries and inventions; and words, phrases, symbols, and designs. Common types of intellectual property include copyrights, trademarks, patents, industrial design rights and trade secrets.

meaning if microsoft has rights to the 3do console we will never see a 3do game on the vc

Xen, what do you mean save most games? Like store them on Wii? Doesn't matter now with the SD Card Channel.

Don't you have to save it on the Wii's internal memory first, and then move it to the SD card?

Also, can you still get that GBA add-on for the GC? I want one... used is okay too.

Probably only can find that GBA Player add-on on Amazon / eBay now (plays all GB (adds in color to even the classic GB games) / GBA games though).  They let you download directly to SD card now from the Wii Shop Channel.  It is a lot better than what it used to be which most people agree this should have been in place since launch.   At least they fixed it now than later.  You just have to have enough free space to load the game onto the Wii from the SD Card Channel.  So having 300-400 blocks pretty much allows you to launch any VC/WW game.  I know some people like Mike_Intellivision that has too many saved game files on his Wii's system memory where it is a hassle still / has to move saved game files back and forth from SD cards to Wii memory (he owns a ton of Wii games).

Dreamcast baby!

^Oh yea I forgot about the Dreamcast but I was thinking that the Wii might not be able to emulate it.

Okay then, thanks for clarifying. In this case, Saturn is great. Not great, terrific. It's my favorite SEGA console (even though I only emulated games).

I think I'll be getting that GC add-on soon.

If the Gamecube could emulate the N64, I imagine the Wii *should* be able to emulate the DC. Especially as, from  what I understand, the DC used pretty standard stuff, unlike the kinky wierd custom frankenchips of the Saturn.

OTOH, I'm not sure it would be worth it for anyone to actually write a DC emulator for the Wii, even if it is feasible, that and the DC used 1.2GB discs, to make any game fit on the wii memory would be painful.

1.2GB CD's?

Wow, first time I hear of it.

@Xen, there is also a connection cord for the GBA to be connected to the GCN. You can play the GB/GBA games though the GBA Player add-on using the GBA as a controller, or you can just use a GCN controller. Not that big of a deal. This connection cord was mainly used for Animal Crossing and Zelda Four Swords game.

Well, I don't have a GBA, unfortunately. I'll try to get that add-on.
