My question is simple. Are people who buy PS3's right now making mistakes?

Should they wait until the rumor is confirmed true or false?

I think people should hold off on buying Playstation 3's until E3 at the very least, just so they can make sure the same console can't be had in a superior form in less than 6 months, for 100 dollars cheaper.

When Sony created the PS2 slim, it was superior to the phat version of that console in many ways. Most importantly, it was much more durable. We should assume that the slim PS3 has a chance to be superior in design and quality, over the original. We should also figure that a price drop from Sony is coming eventually, and it would be the perfect marketing tool for the slim.

So, convince me, why buy a Playstation 3 now? Why not wait till after E3, at least? Why isn't buying now a mistake?

I have a Ps3 40 gig already. I will not by a new one just for the slim, but when I move back to Australia from Japan in a year or so I will buy a slim then.

If I wanted one now, tho I would wait only till E3. Feels to me like it's gonna be announced. We will all see soon enough.

I would definately wait till E3 to buy a PS3. If it could mean a slim PS3 then its worth it.

ive waited this long, i'll keep on waiting for it.

by the end of every gen i have all the systems, this will be no different

but if i dont get ps3 before mw 2, prolly wont be too many kz2 players left, and i want to play that online big time.

Maybe on Chrismas.

I'll sell my old one for used, and buy a new slim, if it is announced. I loved my slim PS2. This could be a turning point for me and Sony this gen. Now if their company wasn't ran by vindictive children with no business sense, I might actually hop on the bandwagon.
