Forums - Microsoft - Are there any JRPG/RPG demos up on marketplace?

You can check out the Tales of Vesperia demo or just buy it. In my opinion it is the best JRPG on the 360 and the battle system is pretty easy to get into.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Blue Dragon may be your best bet, but without any emotional attachment to the characters, it won't really impress you.

A demo is not very good for a JRPG. The best thing about JRPGs is the story and the atmosphere - something a demo can't deliver.

If you really want to try a JRPG, you should just buy one. You might wanna give Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia or Star Ocean a try. I have Infinite Undiscovery and I did not like it that much. Save-points are far away. You died? Have fun with 45 minutes of doing the same stuff again, just to die again.

But be careful, you might actually love JRPGs... that could be quite expensive then.

I have faith the story can deliver, its the gameplay I'm worried about. I'm very picky with games so even if I developed a love of JRPG's I would probably only end up buying 3 :-d

Just use Gamefly and try them out before you make a decision or go rent them at Blockbuster first.

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

I do not want to tell someone to not check one of them out because they may like what I did not. I say just do some research watch some trailers, interviews etc. Then either choose from there which ones to get or go out and rent the ones you seem to be interested in the most before you make your final decision.

Here are my personal favorites... I have played all of them however and have enjoyed each one to some degree.

Not in any order BTW....

Star Ocean: The Last Hope

Tales of Vesperia

Lost Odyssey

The Last Remnant

Runner Ups

Blue Dragon

Eternal Sonata

I have to agree with Undying, JRPG's are very story oriented and putting them into a demo never can live up to anything. I did enjoy the Eternal Sonata demo on the PS3 but I'm not sure if it's the same demo and i mainly just thought it was really pretty. x.o Although most people aren't a fan of it.

Eternal Sonata had an amazing trailer. It reminds me so much of old Disney trailers.
