I hope its true i'll get another one just to have it!!!

I could see this being real, If it is it means Sony's already making the thing, and it will be hitting stores sooner than we all think, and I doubt that's a Japanese box. ($300 PS3 may happen finally.)
I definitely see them dropping the chrome/shiny surface to drop the price so that's holding true. It's hard to decipher just how small the system is from the pic, looks like it's in between the pstwo size and current PS3 model size, and thin. Sony has already patented new heatsink technology, which is widely speculated to be for this thing. The pics they show don't look all that hot, but i'm willing to bet it would look a lot better put together with high quality photos - what we'd see at e3.

I wish all the text on the side and the PSN part was visible, maybe we could see if they've managed to add PS2 bw compatibility. It's not going to look as good as the current PS3, but it will be smaller - I guess early buyers will get something then, as well as old stock being able to sell.

First, it looks like a cheap knock-off. Too cheap. Of course it could simply be a test model with bad looks... But could it really be that bad? Anyway, the box has some more believable looks to it but even it feels a bit awkward, somehow.

Second, it's almost suspiciously small. Could they really have reached a size that small already? I can barely imagine the HDD fitting in there with the motherboard and all other chips they might be having, not to mention the Blu-ray drive. Of course I'm not one of Sony's engineers so I can't know, but that does seem too small.

To put it short: too ugly and too small. Very unlikely to happen.

that logo looks very different to the one used on the box - both letters and the numbers are clearly in a different style

-the P has no enclosed room on the box (the top horizontal isn't connected to the vertical line at the bottom), while here it forms an enclosed room
-the middle part of the S is a straight line from top to bottom(vertical) on the box and here it's horizontal
-the 3 from the box is perfectly round on the right side and here it has sharp edges and a straight line at the right side

and those are just the most prominent differences.. there are even more

The font of the PS3-logo in the Home-trailer is clearly the same as in the original Playstation 3 -logo, whereas the font in the mockup is not. The two logos are completely different. I can't see how anyone could possibly NOT notice that.

afaik, the earlier official logo was "Playstation 3" in full in the spiderman like font
