Our bet updated:

PS3:

Killzone 2: 91
MLB 09: The Show: 90
inFamous: 90
Yakuza 3: 84
Singstar Queen: 76

TOTAL: 431

X360:

Could someone else do this? I have no idea what is 2009, and what is exclusive.

Does this count XBLA or DLC?

6) Games must be proper retail disc games. ODST counts, Peggle does not.

No, it doesn't. Only full retail titles.

What is this absurdity supposed to prove ? Another way of telling that the "PS3 is better" by avoiding the sales figures ?

This bet is about retail games for both consoles in 2009. I am not saying either console is superior, and I acknowledge that the 360 beats the PS3 every week. What does that have to do with this, exactly?

It's a quality argument. Don't bring sales into it. As for the exclusion of downloadable titles, it's not really fair to give Peggle the same weight as Alan Wake or Uncharted 2, is it?

Yes ODST counts. It is another 10 hour campaign. With more MP content. You have Singstar addon in your list?

Concerning you saying PS3 would possibly beat 360 this year if DLC was counted. I'll take you on a bet with that?

So far it looks like this.

360:

GTA4: Lost And Damned = 90, Peggle = 89, Halo Wars = 82, Fallout 3: Broken Steel = 82, Battlestations Pacific = 77

PS3:

KZ2 = 91, MLB 09: The Show = 90, Flower = 87, Comet Crash = 86, Cuboid = 79

360 = 420

PS3 = 433

 EDIT: Infamous is not there because Metacritic only count it when it has 5 or more reviews. :)

you guys seem to be taking a lot of this stuff too serious x.o

Indeed...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Hmm, so it is winning.

Sorry, no way in hell I'm taking that. I know that XBLA games own PSN games, and Microsoft releases a game on XBLA every week.

And I know ODST counts. That's what I said. It's a retail title, even if it was an hour long campaign with no multiplayer and a map pack, it would be a retail game. If it's download only, with a twenty hour campaign and seventeen multiplayer modes (and a map pack), it wouldn't count. Those were the rules of the bet.

Sorry dude. Thought you meant ODST shouldnt be included. ;)

I understand your point. Last year 360 dominated with DLC scores. Portal etc. To be honest, I think Forza 3, Alan Wake and ODST will all score above 92 Metacritic. They will be what gives the 360 the win in this bet on this thread.

I say the top five for 360 would be Alan Wake, Forza 3, ODST, Conviction and Halo Wars.

Top five for PS3 (no order): Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Crack in Time, GT5, Heavy Rain, all over 90.

Unless Microsoft has a massive 2009 title showing at E3 (unlikely, it'll already be June), I would say I've won this easily.

And I'm not arguing that Metacritic is any measure of quality, it's just that it's the one that 360 fanboys always seem to use (other than sales) so I wanted to twist it to show that the PS3 can actually beat the 360 on Metacritic.

I chose metacritic because as a way of this, there is no fair way. Critic scores will have to do, i do not want to use ign because particular reviewers might have something against reviewing rpgs so gives mass effect 30 for eg.

Meracritic is a wider range of views imo.

Sardauk:

And the 'absurdity' of this, is because of this title thread, I am just showing that 360 games are not entirely decided till after E3, give us time to get more games out. As I have said I have both consoles, though I am over the notion that 360 games are non existant in 09.

The Conduit

NMH 2

Zelda Wii.

good day.

I did finally break down and reserve InFAMOUS today. It is getting good (8.5-9) reviews, and other stuff I was looking at (Bionic Commando, for instance) is getting horrifically bad (5s), so I figured it'd be worth a shot. Only the second PS3 game I've ever preordered.

One concern I have almost right away is that the graphics have been getting worse with each trailer released... The game looked much better in the "Super Powers" trailer as compared to the newest one, for instance. What gives? The new trailer made it look like the last Spider-Man game.

Believing in the PLAYSTATION®3......IS.......S_A_C_R_I_L_E_G_E

I'm gonna go on record as saying I do not want to see infamous banned.  This thread is halarious.  His arguements are so terrible not even ps3 fanboys come to his defense.

Thing is for the sake of the bet, I can see Forza 3, Alan Wake and definately ODST all scoring higher than KZ2 Meta. I expect Uncharted 2 to be around 89-90 Meta. Conviction probably will score 89-90. ODST - Meta 94. Alan Wake - 96 Meta ( Got a feeling ) and Forza 3 - 93 Meta. I can see the 360 winning this 5 game bet.
