Not good, if you get an error (which may very well come up soon) after putting your game in, you may have a dead bluray drive. PSN games will play just fine but any disk based media won't work, you may have to send it in to Sony if it doesn't get better. If you can still play bluray games then there shouldn't be any problems.

No error message shows up, the screen just goes black, but I still hear the opening sounds. I can still play my games though

do regular dvd movies work?

I get stuff like this all the time, I thought it was just me... I just had to do my following solution 4 hours ago with 7 Samuri DVD...

Turn it off and back on.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

check your video settings. You can reset your PS3 to minimum video settings by holding down the power button when you're powering on the system, until it turns off. If video still doesn't show, check your cables, video receiver settings or anything else in your setup.

40GB...I can't do anything right now. The family has control of the front room lol

I posted my problem on the official Playstation forums, and a guy told me to go to my video settings and turn off the 1080p 24hz output to see my movies, and it did indeed work.

Thanks for the help though anyway
