Forums - Sony - My Blu-rays aren't showing up on my PS3

I just tried to watch The Dark Knight, and the PS3 still recognized the movie when I put it in the drive. When I started the movie, I heard the opening sounds from any typical Warner Brothers movie, but there was no video. I thought maybe my Dark Knight movie was just messed up, so I tried my other Blu-rays and the results were the same, sound with no video. How do I fix this problem?

So your Blu-Ray drive isnt dead?

In that case I dont know

I had a certain video problem with my PS3, the TV didn't recognize the console. Turn the TV off and on, and replug you PS3 to it.

I'll do that and see what happens

check your video settings. You can reset your PS3 to minimum video settings by holding down the power button when you're powering on the system, until it turns off. If video still doesn't show, check your cables, video receiver settings or anything else in your setup.

Not good, if you get an error (which may very well come up soon) after putting your game in, you may have a dead bluray drive. PSN games will play just fine but any disk based media won't work, you may have to send it in to Sony if it doesn't get better. If you can still play bluray games then there shouldn't be any problems.

call sony and see what they say

sounds like an issue with your video cables, what kind of cables do you have it plugged into your tv with? Hdmi, component, or composite?

No error message shows up, the screen just goes black, but I still hear the opening sounds. I can still play my games though

I use HDMI....the main screen still pops up and I can still play games. Even when the Blu-ray first starts up, it'll show the warning against piracy or w/e, but after that, it goes black and doesn't show any video
