Forums - General - Who here is OUT and proud!?

because most non-heterosexuals have to hide there trueselves due to society and those who choose not to are proud enough to be themselves and not care about what others say

*sighs*

To those who wonder why threads like this exist, it comes down to a majority/minority thing. People who are "normal" (i.e. the majority) don't have to declare they're out there, it is what people are assumed to be. And there are some in this majority who think they are "right", and desire to oppress those who are not like them. Those of us who are "different" need to assert ourselves because of these people; we are out there, we're not "wrong", and we will not be shut down by those biased ones. There are several issues being fought right now by the homosexual community that other groups fought for in the past, and eventually won. There were days in America when women couldn't vote, colored people couldn't marry, and certain religions had a harder time getting a job. All of these are no more, because someone stood up in each case. What is (or rather, should be) going on is this- we want complete equality across the board.

And, just like the groups back then, there are a few that go too far. This is a thread dedicated for the purpose of talking about it. It is clearly labeled as such. If you have a problem with it, it's easy to avoid. The problem is that some people can't keep it contained. It doesn't seem to be a problem here at VGChartz, but in some areas, there are some homosexuals that just have to put it into everything they do, forcing themselves onto others. That's an issue. In the end, if history goes the same way it has, it will become a moot point, but those who get in others' faces usually cause more harm than good. It becomes a matter of knowing when to keep quiet, and when you have to stand up and speak out.

Despite the law's efforts, though, there will always be people who don't like a minority group. Those people need to grow up and realize that those "other" people aren't going away. I don't care whether you think that a colored person is a lesser person, a woman can't do the same job as a man so she deserves less pay, everyone should practice X religion or they deserve to suffer, or that homosexuals give kids the "gay gene" and shouldn't be allowed. Thinking any of these is wrong; it's in its simplest form, prejudice. Anyone can do anything; all they need to do is put their mind to it. And those characteristics... don't make the difference.

Absolutely disgusting, especially that pic.

Why can a gay person make a thread about being gay, but if a person makes a "who here is black and proud" thread its problems.

Troll much?

How about starting a 'who here is gay, black and proud ' thread? Did you even bother to read dunno001's post{probably not as it has that 'wall of text' thing going on). Here's your answer:

I'm gay but prefer not to have people know that as soon as I meet them. Too many prejudices/stereotypes out there.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

I am only 43% gay but I love people who are out and gay :)

They shouldn't have to be treated like dirt by society.

I am a republican for those that don't know.

I'm not a troll. Is there anything wrogn with expressing my opinions and views? I find homosexuality disgusting and wrong. God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. You probably don't care about that anyways so ignore it. What if everyone or most people in the world became gay, would you feel better?

But like hatmoza 2.0 said

I have no one else to blame except for myself for coming to this thread.

Listen. Let me stop you here. You're not in trouble and have every right to have this opinion, but this is a touchy subject, can anger many people, which can start flaming going too far and possibly getting you and other parties banned. If this topic asked for your opinion on gays, then I would accept your answer, but this is a thread for those that are gay to "come out" or whatever, and isn't the platform to throw the "I find homosexuality wrong" card out. Save it for when it's the question asked.

On a more personal note, if you're going to use the God argument, I recommend rethinking it. It's a pretty hollow argument considering how many other socially acceptable things(like premaritial sex, menstrual cycles, masterbation, rape, tattoos, dealing with unruly children, etc.) are shunned in the Bible or have wickedly awesome and ridiculous ways of dealing with them, some of which are illegal. It's the poorest argument to use for the wrongness of homosexuality just because you then either have to agree with the rest of the Bible or concede your point that the Bible is a legitimate reason to judge people.
