It's funny that they wrote a rebuttal without even understanding the topic they were writing about... The score values for achievements are commensurate with the type of trophy you get, and anyone viewing your achievements can see what ones you got, and how many points they were worth (same as trophies, I believe, but I think the only game I have that gives trophies is LBP... I haven't checked to see if they "backloaded" them onto some of my older games). Additionally, getting achievements in many games unlock content in the game, gamerpics, and other items, rather similar to trophies. Additionally, since the developer of the game assigns the achievements/trophies, they tend to be the same across multi-plat releases... A 5 point achievement/bronze trophy for completing a tutorial level, or a 100 point achievement/platinum for beating a game on the hardest difficulty. Hmmm... what's the difference, other than the fact that Sony has to catch up a bit on integrating them into the interface a bit more (I couldn't honestly tell you my "trophy score" or even where to go to find out what ones I have, whereas the Xbox ones, being a feature planned form jump, have almost been "in your face" at times).
Kind of silly altogether, and the response to the article is sad in the "ours is better!!" fanboyism present.
It's a growing part of the PS3 experience that will probably be better implemented next gen. That's about all there is to say about it.
