I've been expecting a slim announcement this E3, though I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't announce it either. After all, I'm not sure if hardware has evolved that much.

But having read this article, I'm starting to lean towards something else. New colors are likely, especially with the white controller. And that new PS2 design doesn't sound too far-stretched either, though it's a bit more unlikely. A new controller design doesn't sound bad either.

they could cut the PS2 in half, so all electronics are now contained tightly under the dvd drive, this would further reduce the cost of making PS2's, and further increaseing their profits.

Redesign... could very well be a PS3 slim. SONY needs as many knock out punches as than can wind at this years E3. A slime PS3, New PSP2 and new motion controls is a !, 2, 3 knock out combo! We can only dream.

A slim P33 is definitely comming either way. SONY should now be producing the 45nm chips, which means it is very possible to be used this year. The slim PS3 will save them a shit load of cash in the long run, so, why not.

Does anyone ever get a suspicion that some of these pre e3 'rumors' could be created by rival companies, in order to lessen or hurt the impact of the other companies e3 announcements. For instance, what if MS knew Sony was no where close to being able to do this, so they figured they'd leak a rumor like this just to disappoint people hoping to see it come to fruition. I know it's far fetched but all these rumors we hear are really to be taken with a grain of salt. I seem to remember David Perry who seems to dislike the PS3 was all but glad to leak info on the new psp awhile back.
