I think Sony annual meeting and financial result are going to be released on 14th May 2009. At annual meeting Sony is going to forecast the next year PS3 sales also. The important thing is that these forecast are also going to be giving us some hint of PS3 price cut if any..

Last yr Sony forecasted 10m PS3 sales .. some were expecting more sales. But as Sony knew they are not going to reduce the price therefore they expected the sales to remain at this level. 

So

if Sony predicts sales of 10 - 11m then i believe they r not going to have a price cut in 2009.

if they predict sales of 11 - 13m then i believe they are going to have a price cut in around Oct - Nov 2009

If they predict sales of 13m - 15m then i believe we will have a price cut a little earlier like August- September 2009.

So wot do u think Sony is going to forecast for the PS3 sales. and when do u believe they r going to cut the price of PS3 (if they even cut it?)

i think 14m-16m price cut November in NA possibly earlier in EU and other regions theres also going to be a shit load of good bundles for the holidays

I agree with the OP. But I believe they could forecast around 14 million regardless of the time of the price-cut on this fiscal year.

They will probably say around 14m with a price cut at the high of the buying boom around Christmas.

They pretty much nailed it last year, so their forecasts are realistic

14m - 16m is a little higher. i think 13m is optimal expectation.

12-13 millions at most if the cut doesn't happen before the holydays....

He he yeah they might not predict that but thats wat i think it will do remeber GT5 FF13 God of War 3 should all be out by end of 3/2010

I'm not sure they will make a forecast at all, given that SCE will cease to exist as a separate division.

If they do make a forecast, around 10 million sounds about right anyway... Probably a bit less than that, given the recession.
