Let's all lay it to rest and accept PS3 is detined to totally outsell XBox 360 in the console sales wars. Sonys past rends: 107 million PS1s sold and 135 million + PS2 sold. all indicators point to PS3 selling over 100 million consoles by end of this generation. 360 will be lucky if it even reaches 50 million life time sales.

since last gen ive been an ms fan, for there being more american pc style games on it.

i loved morrowind, KOTOR, Riddick, etc on old xbox more than any ps2 game (i own ps2 as well)

this gen nothing on ps3 comes close to the library of games i want to play on 360

for me i was a nintendo guy, who got bored during the ps1 years and went to pc

so for me i hope ms runs sony into the ground. all we need is Wii60



Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

Sony were the 1st "corporation" to arrive in the console gaming business therefore i couldn't give a toss about them.

Either way i don't like how they got in to this business and therefore will never have any respect for them.

Ronster, I completely agree with any of your posts in this thread. My primary reason for holding a grudge against Sony is that I grew up with Sega during the 8bit and 16bit era, and have identified Sony as those who essentially put them out of business. I admit that Sega made huge mistakes themselves, but _if_ it had been just Sega and Nintendo forever, I imagine that Sega would still build hardware. So I hate Sony for entering this business.

That being said, it's not really important to me that PS3 beats Xbox. On the contrary, I would love to see the PS3 fail even more than it has up till now.

When will people get it in to their head that just about every playstation sold (unless people bought both) meant one less Sega saturn console sold.

How can anyone say that sony's arrival in to the gaming business didn't hurt Sega?

Nintendo and Sega were always REAL Nintendo is over 100 year old company and they changed a lot of buisnes before they got into video game industry gaming companys............ Sony  are an opportunistic "corporation" thats the difference.

sony BOUGHT  How is Sony's fault develiopers saw the potential of PS1 and started to work on it. Plus, lots of great franchises today becaome famous  on SONY's clonsoles. If there were no PS1 there would be no Resident Evil, Tekken, Gran turismo... we would just have same old Mario and Sonic their way to the top.

Nintendo and Sega EARNED   SEGA almost never earned profit. their money in the gaming business the hard way.......... real graft.

I didn't mind Nintendo outselling Sega one bit because it was two gaming companys going head to head.

Despite Nintendo selling more consoles both the Master system and Megadrive proved to be winners for Sega, and therefore if it was still only Nintendo and Sega around i believe Sega would still be in the console business today  SEGA was doing horrible even Sony wasnt around; SEGA wouldnt last 2 more generations.  and would still have many of the talents still working for them that gave Sega so many great games over the years.

A lot of Sega's top talent has left now, and thats a real damn shame.

What does it matter, Sony will be celebrating beating somebody who came in with nothing. MS on the other hand will walk away with a job well done, oh and some money made too.

Sony' truly thought that they could do no wrong because of the success of the PS1 and PS2. Now they are seeing how wrong they were and paying dearly with a $1.7 billion loss for fiscal 2008. Hopefully this is a wakeup call for them. I don't think the PS3 is going to beat anyone. By the time they start catching up the NEW Next-Gen will be beginning.

They are winning only in your mind. In everyones else's mind they are losing horribly. $1.7 billion loss speaks volumn. Games are important, but if they can't help to move hardware, they aren't doing their job. Killzone 2 hasn't even sold over 2 million worldwide yet. It still hasn't sold over 1 million in any of the 3 regions. It certainly didn't move any PS3's. The FFXIII demo moved more PS3 then KZ2. That's sad.

Sorry, but the PS3 is losing miserably.
