It was aimed at MGS1 specifically. In that game, when you get to the same area where Otacon talks about BluRay in MGS4, you have to switch discs. Whoever started the whole "Kojima was ragging on the 360" thing was an idiot who obviously didn't catch the reference.

WTF are you talking about? He has a lot of valid points. I don't believe it's coming on the 360 anyway, but for the 360 only people I'd feel shitty if they played this game dumbed down, because a B team ported it. MGS4 a quality game; actually, it's the only real reason I bought the PS3 initially (but since, i've found a couple games I can play). What he's doing is not fanboyism...thats the truth. My god some PS3 fanboys are blind.

Don't be so quick to call others blind.

As a gamer, I think Gebx made only two valid points:

1 - MS Marketing/Financing could of been spent on aquiring a new IP (I'm assuming MS will throw some money at Konami); and

2 - You don't use your "good" developers on a port, , Konami will use their best developers on new games, and their "B" team or "C" team to create the port. Therefore, the game is more likely to be buggy and have performance issues.

Even then, they're highly speculative (as is the whole thing anyway). I'm sure it wouldn't be a poor port regardless, especially if MS were to throw some money as he speculated in the first point I posted of his.

Some of his other points, although a few humourous, displayed fanboyism. Namely the one the person you quoted pointed out:

"MGS4 (ps3) made fun of DVD9's"

At best, that is childish.

Several other of his points shouldn't matter to a gamer (e.g. It will do poorly sales wise compared to the PS3 (Obvious I know...), which will then be used as ammo by PS3 fanboys) but he is a self-professed '360 fanboy' so I suppose that's legitimate(?).

 

MGS4 did make fun of DVD's. It was a full insult from Kojima to the owners of the 360. He's not being childish.

 

Whatever you want to say...if you say so.

Edit: That was hardly an insult to 360 owners so much as it was to the hardware. Are we not being a bit oversensitive?

 

I saw it and it was definitely a dick move. Kojima shouldn't be throwing gasoline on top of an on going flame war between the 360 and PS3 and you know it.

On a side note, since my post wasn't written well, I meant that the person who started the rumor was an idiot, not those who don't catch the reference.

 There is no imminent loss of exclusivity, but I understand how Sony fanboys must feel. First, their console being outsold by their nemesis. Then, the exclusives ripped of their bodies one by one. GTA IV, FFXIII, all of them. I honestly feel bad for them.

And calling me a fanboy for thát would be a mistake. If this game comes out on 360 after all, I'll probably still play it on a PS3, just like FFXIII, while I don't even have that console yet! There's way better reasons to call me a fanboy... ;)

Mass Effect is never coming on the PS3. There is an actual rumor going around the interwebs that MGS4 is being ported and will be announced at E309.

I agree with your points however even if I didn't I still wouldn't buy the game. I tried MGS2 after I got the original Splinter Cell and well Splinter Cell blew it out of the water. I was never able to get into the MGS series.

 

 

Play the original MGS. It's still badass today. Everything about the way that game was made was perfect. MGS3 had a badass storyline.

What a fool, I would love MGS4 to come to 360, in any form. Or i will wait till ps3 is nice and cheap and slim and will get it then, graphics will still look sweet.
