Forums - Microsoft - The Rock ... set to star as Marcus Fenix?

Marcus: Johnny Depp

Dom: Mario Lopez

Cole: Morgan Freeman

Baird: Seth Rogen

Hoffman: David Hasselhoff

Chairman Prescott: Vin Diesel

No, but in all seriousness, Hasselhoff would make an awesome Hoffman (and not just because of the similarity in their names).

My best picks would be
Mickey Rourke as Marcus.
and
Carlos Bernard as Dom.
and
Ryan Reynolds as Baird.
and
"Mighty Rasta" as Cole.

I agree with your 2 last picks. Im not sure who should play Marcus, Rourke may be good, maybe Ron Pearlman. I think Pro Wrestler Dave Batista would make a good Dom with some aging makeup(the guy is 41 but looks in his late 20s). RR as Baird is Perfect and Lester "Mighty Rasta" Speight  who does the voice of Cole in the game looks perfect for the role.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

As a Gears fan, this sounds absolutely awful. Not just the rock to star as Marcus but the entire idea of a film. Sure the entire lack of any type of real story is fine in a video game where you are absorbed in playing the game, but turning that into a movie is going to fail no matter how well of a script you have, the calibur of director or actors. There just isn't enough room to make something cinematically great with what's there to work with given the template laid out by the source material.

My guess is that this would be the prequel to the games.

So it might not be all that bad.

They've failed to make a movie worth a fart from source material with far more potential. The best this movie could be is a movie with impressive action sequences. But I'm not sure if it would get a high enough budget for that, and when has that made a good movie? Wolverine cost 150 million to make and was crappy and with less then stellar cgi but still had some good fight scenes. Didn't save the movie though.

I think the movie will be about as good as the DOOM movie and by that I mean not at all. What could they possibly do with the movie to make it good? Video game movies suck for a reason. What is plausible in a game just isn't so with a movie. Trying to shape a game into a movie, exspecially one worth any merit, is harder then you think. I don't even think the mgs movie will be great cinema, and I'm the hugest fanboy of that series. The only video game movie I really have any hope of turning out to be a great movie is the Bioshock movie because I believe it will be easier to transfer the source material into a great, smart and cinematic script, and that it can be visually spectacular and frightening and that the director of the pirates trilogy won't have a problem getting proper funding to make it come together.

Big muscular men with big guns and cheesy dialouge don't make good movies anymore, that was the late 80's early 90's. It's still damn great as a video game though! :D

The resident Evil Movies did not suck...Sure the story was not from the games plot but all the right elements where there...

I think Mr Hayter would Beg to differ

Predator (1) and the Terminator Movies are just as watchable now as they were back then

I dare you Micheal Bay would not be able to pull it off
