Forums - Gaming - Naughty Dog talks Wii

I keep hearing all these third parties praising the Wii. Bubbling over with good thoughts and words about the new Nintendo console....................but it doesn't mean anything if they don't make a decent game for the system. I am tired of all this BS praise. I want a decent third party shooter that isn't some port. The Wii is begging for a shooter, and these people keep comming out with crap like Vanguard and COD3. Garbage! Put some action behind the praise.

Well, since this isn't a 3rd party praising or even a current person from ND you have nothing to worry about. Jason Rubin doesn't speak on behalf of ND anymore, therefore the thread title is misleading anyway.

Naughty Dog is part of Sony now, not even a second party.

This guy has nothing to do with Naughty Dog anymore.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Thank you for pointing that out. This guy helped co-find Naughty Dog, but he left, people. Naughty Dog ain't making no Wii games.

The point is still valid. I hear EA, Ubisoft, etc. etc. talking up the Wii all the time. Where are the games?!

Where are the games?

In planning and development, people.

How long do you think it takes to secure funding, plan and develop a game? At the very least, over a year. A big budget title can take 3 years. All these devs were caught off guard and have starting allocating resources for Wii development but we won't see the huge rush until the summer of next year.

Next time you ask, "where are the games." please think first. They can't just snap their fingers and there it is.

Even still, there are more 3rd party games coming out for Wii this year than the PS3 and X360 so you can imagine how much bigger next year will be.

True but how many of those are budget titles that very few people would want?

Hi there, Soriku; didn't see you in the Kingdom Hearts compilation thread and I was worried :p
OT: Naughty Dog is a free 3rd party developer but mostly develop for Sony something like Hudson and Nintendo.

what have naughty dog made that i would know? [i'm not really good at the 'which dev made which game' thing]

They created the first 4 Crash Bandicoot games, and all of the ps2 Jak and Daxter games. They are currently working on Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

True but I did say the big budget titles take longer to develop, didn't I?

I pointed that out as mere recognition that 3rd parties are putting themselves behind Wii more so than credit is given.
