Forums - Gaming - How much would Red Faction: Guerrilla be hyped as a console exclusive?

The checklist for RF: Guerrilla looks cool.  It promises open-ended gameplay.  The game is getting no talk on here at all.  It got discussed once, and then again when the demo was released.  It is a mutli-console release.  I know that Red Faction PS2 got hyped on Usenet by Playstation fanboys back in the time, some saying it would be a "Halo Killer".  But as of RF:G, I don't see anything on it?  I am of the belief that it is a multi-platform release.

However, if it were say just on the 360 or PS3, would it of gotten more hype?  I believe the game likely would of been used as ammo in fanboy wars.  Haze was, to some extent, same with Lair.  Anyone else see it would be discussed and hyped more if it wasn't multiplatform?

Around the Network

I'm not so sure, even though you may have a point. But the Red Faction series has had very, very little press or hype at all since before the first one came out.

And noone in their right mind would hype Haze 2 or Lair 2. (except console fanboys... you might be onto something here).

This is invisible text!

360 looks a little sharper but game is still naff.

I think that is a point here.  Fanboys on the Internet are like in a barroom brawl, and grab anything they can get their hands on to attack enemy fanboys.  And, until it falls apart, they will keep using it over and over and over again.  Apparently Velvet Assassin did this, so we don't hear of it.  Killzone 2 got some mileage out of it.  Look at sales now.  Looks like Resistance 2 showed better legs than Killzone 2, according to VG Chartz.
