They even praised the RSX LMFAO

I can understand it. The RSX isnt a slow GPU at all. While it is slower to the newest GPUs out it was definitely one of the fastest of the generation of GPUs it was released in.

I'm sorry, but a crippled 7800GTX aka RSX is in no way comparable to the fastest cards of that generation 7900 GTX and x1950xtx. It's the weakest part of the ps3 and if I recall correctly, added at the last minute because the cell alone wasnt powerfull enough in processing graphics.

we have no idea what the RSX's specs are so how can you tell me that its a "crippled 7800GTX?" It is more than plausible that the RSX has the same amount of stream processors as the 7900GTX. Also clock speeds are supposed to be pretty good.

You mention clock speeds. The RSX runs at 550 MHz (there are plenty of official sources saying that at Wikipedia), while the 7900 GTX runs at 650 MHz.

As for whether the RSX deserves much praise, the 360's GPU came out one year earlier and it has around the same performance (or even better according to a lot of sources).

All I saw was a bunch of Pee Wee's having a circle jerk over 'the cell'...Almost like an infomercial...

uhm, imo it was an infomercial

 @ ssj12 )

well, I don't know about the clock speeds, but the architecture quite surely is from the 7800, because the 7800 had very "anisotropic" anisotropic filtering( there were certain angles in which the filtering was only bilinear, although a higher quality of filtering was set), while the 7900 had an almost "isotropic" anisotropic filtering with almost all angles being filtered with the set amount (4x/8x/16x) (btw the ati cards were the ones which innovated the "isotropic" anisotropic filtering in that gen)

sadly in PS3 games you can often see the anisotropic nature of the af of the 7800 architecture, which sometimes is misinterpreted as "bad textures", although it really is low quality filtering of certain angles

The ps3 came out a year after xbox and uses an older video card.  Big mistake on sony part, next to the lack of system ram.

they could have blown xbox out of the water if they thought it through more

Who Cares about system specs so much? All I see, is the PS3 exclusives ahead in the graphics department. The proof is in the pudding. Besides this, InFamous is looking to be really good. Keep bringing the goods Sony. Thanks for spending 50 Million on KZ2, instead of Add on content to a ~ Year old game.

I'll watch the vid later. Gotta go tell my mom I love her!

just watched the video and it is nowhere near as bad as the OP makes it out to be.

so they compliment the hardware for making the game possible, big deal. why shouldnt they? they didnt say it couldn't be done on a 360!

if you think this is bad, you should check out the backbreaker article on why the ps3 version maybe the better version.

Wow, that vid got me even more pumped for Infamous.  And the devs' statements were perfectly consistent with trying to hype their game

Physics in PS3 games do look, just...a step above and Beyond those in the other consoles' games.

You mean you don't know the specs. It's not hard to find around the net.
