Yeah, the soundtrack was amazing. But by far my favourite thing about the game was that no two colossi were the same. I mean, there's a colossus who swims underwater, a few who walk on land, one who flies high, one who flies low, one who is basically a tower, one who disappears under the sand every so often...it's the most varied game I've ever played. There may have been only 16 enemies (17 if you count the camera Few things give you the satisfaction that plunging your blade into a colossus and seeing it destroyed. And Wander may have hardly spoken, but you feel extremely attached to him, mostly because you are playing as him for pretty much the whole game. Walking, climbing, riding, even some cutscenes, you control Wander. And the ending was fantastic. I want to play Ico now. |
Bolded: I completely 100% agree I can't describe it but every single Colossus had a really different and Imaginative way to take him down not just the old genric a fire monster kill him with the ice magic and the Ice monster kill him with the Fire magic !!!
the guy behind this game is a genius I put him right up there (for me) with Miyamoto and I think he is even far better than Kojima
this game is truly a masterpiece I can't even pick my favorite Colossus battle out of 16 because I enjoyed them all so much (although the final one was a tad disappointing)
and it has the best video game soundtrack out there (sorry God of War
)
this is my favorite track especially the part at 00:23

) but each was unique.
