You mean like Metal Gear Sold... and Metal Gear Solid 2?  Both were on PC and MGS2 was on the Xbox... a horrible port... shame on you Kojima

I don't get how you can steal things from Sony that they never even owned.

I would say second base though since I'm watching the Dodgers lose right now.

When he says steal, he means companies using money to steer devs away from their competitors for a certain title or franchise. Sony may have never owned the bulk of the third party, but they sure moneyhatted their way in the hearts of third party devs. A company like Sony needs a company who is its monitary equal or else it will dominate and destroy the industry from the ground up. Microsoft and Sony are in the gaming industry. This is a sign there will be more moneyhatting all around and more gamers on all sides getting screwed and having to fork out more because they wanted to play the "who has the bigger dick game".

OK OK we got it already, SONY is the devil, no need to keep ranting about it through three posts, one is enough.

I think the term "steal" would be true if the title was confirmed early to be heading for a platform exclusively, and then later announced as a multiplat, but if it was just assumed or spreculated to be exclusive then it doesn't count.

So a title like FFXIII does qualify as "stolen"

"Kinect" Games I am really excited about (Click for videos)

Kinectimals        Dance Central      Kinect-Sports   Kinect-Adventures    Your Shape       Kinect-Forza

Owner of :   slim 1000 +  80GB DSlite

MGS4- Not happening. And if it did, nobody would care. It's almost a year old.

MGS5: 50:50

Valkyria Chronicles: No real point.

Yakuza: See above.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII: Knowing SE, possible, but unlikely.

LA Noire: Looking increasingly likely. If it even exists anymore.

That's about it. Nothing massive. Nothing megaton like FF13. A few games which wouldn't really cause any shock if they went multiplat, and a few that would have little to no effect.

Like it did from 1994 to 2006, right?

step 1: Get all the big games on your console [DONE]

step 2: Get all the big games on your console and make them exclusive. [work in progress]

But what is left after Tekken, FF XIII, Devil May Cry, GTA IV, and Resident Evil. Not much. I can't believe people are saying Versus coming to Xbox360 is unlikely. Haven't you learned anything in the past 3 years? It was more than unlikely that GTA hit the Xbox360 (with exclusive DLC), it was unlikely that Tekken will get a Xbox360-release and nobody ever thought of Final Fantasy being multiplat at all. What makes you so sure that versus will stay exclusive? I am not saying it is going to happen, but there is a chance. If the Xbox360 version of Final Fantasy sells 3-4 million copies, which is possible, I think Square Enix would like to have the same for versus.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Im pretty sure the enormous outrage that would follow would prove you wrong. Still I doubt it's happening.

Obviously it helps to blur the lines between the rivals, but one could also suspect its a veiled attack to denegrate the competition.

There's nothing veiled about it. Microsoft has always preferred taking down their competitors to improving their own products. It's been their M.O. from day one.

Even when MS clearly offers a good quality product people make this claim. MS takes down their competitors BY improving their products. You act like this practice only takes down Sony, when acquiring additional games simultaneously hurts Sony and gives 360 owners more games. It's win-win.

I'll agree with you that there's nothing veiled about it though.

Just a thought, didn't MGS games come to the XB last gen? I know 1 and 2 were released on the GameCube - Twin Snakes was it?

I honestly thought that others would understand that it is not a literal stealing. This is an old terminology debate long since resolved. No it is not stealing it is merely good strategic acquisition that plays against false preconceptions. That said I was hoping for a little more left field. A few more games we hadn't actually mulled over.

For example I think Star Wars Battlefront 3 is a good contender. The same for Elder Scrolls V. I see no reason why Microsoft would find it difficult to get Edge of Twilight. That is not so much a steal as locking in Southpeak.
