So...who wants to educate me about the series? I hear "Western" and "SRPG," so I'm interested, but I need details to know just how much to care.

The setting section tells you pretty much everything you should know.  Sakura Taisen 5 stars the New York Kagekidan.  Sakura Taisen 3 (mentioned above) stars the Paris Kagekidan.  Sakura Taisen 1 stars the Tokyo Kagekidan.

Thank you much.

lol I thought this was about Sakurai's new game.... oops

From what I remember it about various squads around the world that uses Robots that can use the spiritual energy of their pilots to attack demons with over the top attacks.
Also as a side note to all of stories their is this one guy responsible in training all the different divisions of the robot squads around the world and appears to be the only male pilot.

That is the general overview I believe but it's been a while since I read the story.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

This is kind of out of no-where announcement, I"ll be interested to see how NIS brings the title over. Of all the Sakura Taisen games, 5 is the easiest to bring over since it can fairly stand on its own since it is a new cast and has very little connection to the Tokyo team.

I"m getting the impression though people think this game is a pure SRPG. It has SRPG gameplay elements, but its mainly a dating sim with SRPG battles that occur at the end of each chapter.

They are fun games though and I"ve enjoyed all of the main titles games. I kind of wish though they ported Sakura Taisen Atsuki Chishio Ni instead since that is a remake of the first Sakura Taisen. Oh well, the fact that they are bringing over one of the titles is amazing enough hehe

I miss Working Designs...

No foreign sky protected me,
No stranger's wing shielded my face.
I stand as witness to the common lot,
survivor of that time, that place.

- From 'Requiem' by Anna Akhmatova

While I loved the work Working Designs put into their games and for the collector fans, I would not want their translations in this game. They tend to put their own humor and jokes into games and it worked well in some games and was kinda weird in others.

It looks amazing to me.
I really hope it'll have a PAL release too.

Are there any game play videos?

Intro videos can look good on almost any system -- especially when they are cartoons.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
