Forums - Gaming Discussion - Easter Eggs in our Videogames [A.K.A. Dr. DOAK BITCH!]

Easter Eggs = Win!

I'll start by posting this from one of my favorite games, Golden Eye 64 (explaination below).

"David Doak is a British video game designer. Doak first worked with Rare, where he helped develop the critically acclaimed Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64, but later left to help start Free Radical Design. From there he worked on the hugely successful video game series TimeSplitters, and two other video games called Haze and Second Sight. He has worked along side the specialist videogame composer Graeme Norgate. In late 2008 Free Radical Design entered administration and changed their name to Crytek UK after being brought by Crytek, Doak still works for Crytek UK even though many people were made redundant.

The fictional character Dr. Doak in the game Goldeneye 007 was named after him."

Other Easter Eggs in Golden Eye 64:

"Several references to James Bond films exist in GoldenEye 007, the most apparent being the titles of the various multiplayer modes and the Bond Girl names for the game's control schemes. The CCTV tape found in the second Bunker mission features the cover of the VHS release of the GoldenEye film.

Several members of the game's development staff were featured in the game as generic character faces. Bond's double-agent contact "Dr. Doak" in the "Facility" mission is named after and bears the likeness of David Doak. The "Klobb" weapon (originally "Spyder"), is named after former Nintendo employee Ken Lobb."

Do you know about any interesting Easter Eggs in your favorite games? :/

In Wild arms 5 all the main cast from WA1-4 appear as cameos, that was very special to me for some strange reason

Rare has always been known for their clever cameos and easter eggs. Here's some videos of Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie Easter Eggs

Finding a Sega Saturn in Ryos house in Shenmue was pretty neat.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Ps2 and several playstation magazines in Metal Gear Solid 2

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Super Mario RPG had an Arwing and a Blue Falcon.

Also Buoy Base Galaxy had a "planet" that looked like a Pokeball.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Well, if you're going to play that card, I must say the GameCube and Mario & Yoshi figurines in Otacon's office in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

The earliest one I remember experiencing is the King's Quest II Batmobile
