I bought my Ps3 40gb for 479€ here at Finland year ago...But price is now 339€ for cheapest, and 399€ is standart for 80gb+dualshock..

not really but the weak dollar has cost sony around US$100 in yens per PS3 so in a way they did "cut", but it was really a lost because it was not intentional, to ps3 has gotten cheaper in the crisis but consumer didn't notice it.

the dollar at the beginning of the crisis was around 120 yens and got to 86 yens in December so
400*120 = 48000 yens
400*86 = 34400 yens
the difference is around 13600 yens changing is back a 86 to see how much was the lost is US$158 per console, but now is a 98 so is not as much.

anyway this shows that from sony is point of view they already got the price cut, only it was not the price but sony is profits

Same here, I can get an 80GB one for around 3200 NOK several places online now, only a few months ago it was impossible to find under 3800 unless there was some special deal like signing a 12 month broadband contract or something. I can get a 360 Elite for 2500 NOK and the Wii costs 2800 NOK now... Horrible value, for the first time in 15 years, Nintendo will have the most expensive console here.

Its been for 399€ here since I can remember. (I didn't pay attention before the price cut)

my ps3 just had an almost $200 price increase.

I bought mine PS3 40 gig with Sisaxis for 1299 PLN which was promotion at that time (80 gig was like 300 PLN more)

Euro was like 3,60- 3,70


Now I could get PS3 80 + KZ2 at 1299 PLN while euro is at 4,10-4,20 PLN
