Its kinda dumb, a lot of people are bitching about ie being built into ms.

If the same argument happens, it shouldn't have even be bought into consideration.

I'm not saying I'm for or against the topic being proposed, but I think Windows and Internet Explorer are different than Sony integrating a video game console inside some of their TV's.

How so?

Microsoft made vista and people are complaining that they put an easy chance for people to chose ie. Where as if sony put a competitor to PAID units, as opposed MS putting a competitor for FREE browsers.

How is it fair for the opposition.

You could say its different because not everyone has sony tv's, well especially not the percentage of vista/xp/ microsoft operating systems. But we can't really have different devices for companies just because they are more successful.

In honesty i have nothing against Sony ps3's, or their tv's. As a matter of fact i have both, but the bravia's are too expensive at the moment, to OT, In theory good idea. In practice though not so good, corporate issues would prevent such a thing. In Australia we have ACCC (australian consumer... something commission.) I am sure that america has something like that, same as Japan and it just wouldn't allow it. It is just too much competion.

I was just saying that it's much easier to simply buy a different brand TV without a PS3 integrated into it if you don't want it rather than using a whole other operating system because of IE.

Why not? It is not like it wont sell. So many people want to watch TV and play games in HD. Put it in a special line of Sony Vega(etc) 1080p TV's and people would buy it. It is not like it would go out of style. 1) 1080p is the next step in TV board casting as most HD shows are in 720p. 2) PS3 & Blu ray will be around for sometime and can handle HD in glory.

I think its a good idea for a high end model Tv. yes it would be expensive but its not like they will stop making the standard ps3.

those saying what it the ps3 breaks. you get it repaired by the same guy who would repair your tv cause its part of the tv. when my samsung hdtv crapped out i was able to use the 2 year warrenty that came with it (a year longer than ps3's warrenty) and samsung sent a tv repairman that seems to have never repaired this version tv and he came with instructions on how to repair it. the same can be done with a tv with a built in ps3.

Im pretty sure we will soon have tv's with built in blu ray drives so it all comes to having the ps3 mainboard added to the tv's mainboard. The Tv will already provide the power supply and cooling that the ps3 needs.

I wouldn't be surprised if 2 years from now when the ps3 will be cheaper to produce to see it built into a few sony model Tv's.

First of all, it's a PS3 inside of a TV which could have issues and second of all only a minority of electronics consumers would be able to afford it.

Sony is already having enough issues profiting off of the PS3. Making a high end version would kill Sony's gaming division quicker than one would expect. That is too quick of a death.

Sony tvs are one of the best but they are just too damn pricey

as long as they produced TVs with and without the added PS3 feature then that isnt a bad idea.
