I was trying to turn the thread into something serious with my suggestion, but if the whole thread was serious from the start...

@ vlad 321 - I think Civilization is superior and probably more 'hardcore' in most ways. Gears of War came into my head simply because, like it or not, there is certainly a group of people who seem to think that guns, violence and graphics = hardcore. That's why I put it in. Came to mind for that reason I think. Gears of War was a fun game, though. No doubt in my mind. Though I certainly spent more hours with my first copy of Civilization on the good old Amiga 500
