Forums - Gaming - Multiplatform casual games sell more on HD than Wii

Oh, come on people. Read more than just the opening post. This data shows nothing.

The only valid examples on the list are Madden 08, Madden 09, Fifa 09 and the two Guitar Hero-games.

One Guitar Hero-game which is almost identical in sales between the 360 and Wii, and one where the Wii wins. Half of the list isn't even eligible because of bundling, later releases and the like. This guy did no research at all, and it shows.

Well the Wii comes with the greatest casual game of all time, and the Wii has better exclusive casual games, like Wii Fit, Carnival Games, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, rail shooters, brain trainers, and Rayman Raving Rabbids (exclusive controls and exclusive success).

So these multiplatform "casual" games have fierce competition on the Wii.

Wii owns casual gaming. Didn't you get the memo?

What about Call of Duty, Singstar, Lips, or Buzz? Viva Pinata? LittleBigPlanet?

Wolverine. Casual.
Star Wars. Casual.
Sports. Casual.
Music. Casual.
Movie-tie in. Casual.

Lego Indy, Kung Fu Panda, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance(which I wouldn't call casual) and Sega Superstars Tennis were all heavily bundled on 360...A sale is a sale. Are you saying that the people who bought Kung Fu Panda didn't want to buy it?

Do your research. I know they were bundled, a sale is sale.

EDIT: Also, Rock Band was released about a year later on Wii.

I just eliminated half of your list. Feeling pretty good about myself. If you eliminate the whole list you get a trophy and achievement.

EDIT 2: What the flying fuck? How is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed a casual game? The Star Wars name is what sold it. You can't get more casual than Star Wars.

... Wow. You're serious in comparing a bundled game on one console with a non-bundled game on a different one? The same game? Of course the bundled one will sell more. The bundles with these games were great deals, so no, I don't think everyone who bought them wanted the games.

Sorry, can't eliminate the whole list because it isn't complete bullshit, it's just about 55-60% bullshit.

Star Wars is a big name, sure, but I fail to see how this is a casual game... KOTOR is casual too, then?

LoL, half of them are bundles and the rest is such a small difference!

football/MNFL games sell more on Ps3/Xbox360, so HD systems have some casual as well, so, peace!!

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

I don't think you know what "casual" means ... There's a difference between being a big, known IP and being a casual game. A good example would be that new Wolverine-game. Sure, lots of people are gonna buy it because it's Wolverine, or because they just saw the movie, but don't tell me when looking at screens and videos from that game that it's casual ... It's pretty much God of War (but lower quality, supposedly. Haven't played it).

None of those sell like Wii Fit does.  They have a few great casual games, but not the ridiculous plethora available on the Wii.

But nothing sells like Wii Fit does. Everything bows to Wii Fit.

I'm just saying that the HD platforms have found some success despite their "big brown/black.grey shooter box" images.

Lol. Casuals don't look at videos and screens except the ones on the box. So Wolverine will sell because it is like God of War? OK.

Wow. Majin is showing serious signs of denial.

Very interesting comparison. King-Fu Panda is the one that surprises me the most though. I would have expected the 360 and Wii sales numbers to be the reverse of what they are.
