They don't plan on releasing a demo for the West because of poor planning, not because of Microsoft. |
If M$ wasn't in the picture, a demo would be in the West, because they wouldn't have to worry about "partly because we are going to carry on with the project alongside the Xbox version, so we really can't just make it available only for the PS3."
|
That's just as stupid as saying if I got in a wreck at a stoplight because it turned yellow and I slowed down but the person behind me sped up it's the stop lights fault.
There is not a demo in the West because they either just didn't allot for the time or something more important came up.
|
they have it for the ps3, they can release it now if they want, but they won't because it will be unfair for 360 owners...
|
Because there's no localization necessary for a Japanese-language demo?
But seriously, demos are supposed to be free. I'm sure they're not releasing it because they can't sucker as many people into paying ridiculous amounts for a demo as they can in Japan.
Remember when the FFXII demo was a free bonus with DQVIII? A free bonus?
Although, Konami did charge $50 for the MGS2 demo, only including a bonus copy of Zone of the Enders to soften the blow.

the voice recordings are already going in. for 2 hours demo they could have get it done, even so tranlated menus would have been enough it's a demo, japanese ps3 demo let you choose the japanese voice act with english subs as namco bandai naruto ninja storm.
and if they didn't had time was to make a 360 version , they JUST started making the port, if a 360 version existed they would have it released like the said they would.
so if no 360 port existed they would have been able to bundle the demo since no other console to be "unfair" to.
sony have nothing to do with the development of it, u can blame sony for their first party delays but FF is third party.
|
Right. FF is third party. Sony doesn't have control over them. Neither does MS. You blaming an uninvolved party like Microsoft is a bit rediculous. I can easily throw blame in a thousand directions, but when it comes down to it, it comes down to being Square's problem, and Square's fault. If Square had started 360 development earlier, they would have had a build to make the demo from wouldn't they? If they had started to localize the game earlier, they'ed have the translation done for the demo already wouldn't they? Ultimately, it was Square's decision to release or not release the demo. They chose not to. Whatever their reasonings are don't really matter. The bottom line is they could have released it, and they chose not to.
Are you the type of person that regularly blames other people for problems they aren't responsible for? If I have a school assignment to do and I procrastinate all week, under the assumption I'll do it last minute, and then someone I know gets hospitalized causing me to not get my work done on time, who's fault is that? Is it the hospitalized person or is it me the procrastinator? There were many instances where Square could have taken a different course of action. However it was their action to take, not Microsoft's. When you show me the gun held to Wada's head, I'll concede and say it was all Microsoft's fault.
