Forums - Gaming - Will PS3 Or 360 Get Motion Controls If So Will It Help Sell There Console

If you havent heard the rumors E3 this year might reveal both or one HD console getting motion controls

Will it happen for the PS3 or 360 or even both?

Will it get there HW up to where the Wiis at or close to it?

Will it hurt the console that gets it b/c fans will not choose it or support it b/c theyre not into motion controls?

I think that both will unveal there motion controls at E3 and it will help there sales and not hurt there hardcore audience b/c they will keep there motion controls away from hardcore games like COD, Halo, Gears, Uncharted, GT5, FF13, God of War3 and other types games, and will unleash a whole new library of games that support motion controls almost like having 2 type of game library's in one console hardcore and casual, if anything it will hurt the Wii if the HDs get motion controls since i think they have shown us wat it can do and there are not that many more earth shattering games coming for it so the consumers will be like "hmm let me see wat sonys and MSs motion controls do i know wat the Wiis does."

im talking bout more serious motion like those 2 articles are mentioning the DS3 does have motion but its not implemented in every game and is only use about 10% of the whole game iof implemented and its just a little tilt side to side or up and down so it isnt something real major as far as gameplay acpects

Nope...If anything it will help sell the Wii more

Depends on how advanced or superior the motion control is in comparison to the Wii Motion Plus, I believe these HD systems could see huge spike in their sales.

Wii is a great system and I myself own one, but their motion technology is still not to the point where I feel playing real tennis, boxing or golf. I believe many people who had purchased Wii wanted to exeperience such. So if the new motion control on these sytems can pull such experience, those dreamers likely to jump in.

As for actual games, people may argue that as these devices will be optional unlike Wii, so there will not be much of 3rd party support. My response to this arugment is that many people who owns Wii buy games like Wii Sports, Wii Fit, or other exercise games.  Based on this fact, I would say as long as Microsoft or Sony can publish a few great exercise games that would be enough to convince these audience.   They have enough games to compete with Mario Kart Wii or Super Smash Brothers.

I suspect that at least one of the current HD consoles will try to ape the Wii. However, this will fail, and it fail miserably. Developers will ignore it because it doesn't come with the console (and would detract from their efforts to make games prettier), and the consoles' fanbase will reject it for its similarity to the Wii.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Wii Fit is equivalent to these motion controls

They better package these games to casuals

Repent or be destroyed

Yeah but its not simply the motion controls that sell the Wii. Its the name, the fact that peoploe are hearing about and want it. The 360 might be able to pull in some of the 'motion based crowd', but i doubt the PS3 will have much success in that department.

Motion control on it's own won't do anything because the secret of the Wii's success isn't motion control, it's the focus in trying to broaden the scope of video games and the gaming audience; motion control was just the technology they used to simplify the control scheme as part of their push into the true mainstream.

If Sony or Microsoft copies. Nintendo's motion control, it won't work if they don't copy their principles too.

It almost definitely won't help. Late-in-the-game peripherals never do so well. Even if they come a little earlier.
