Still not sure what people are talking about but if a window comes up and it says something like that never ever push the Cancel or No option or whatever its just like flash ads that tell you to click the guy to win something the goal is to get you to click something anywhere on the window no matter what you click. Always make sure to use the X in the top right or better yet kill it with task manager since some like to also put a fake X on the page just under the real one. Same for email scams that say send something here to get off the list all that does is confirm that they hit an actively read email so they send more.

The drivecleaner is not being proposed by this site, you have some other issue on your pc. You need to run spybot search and destroy as well as adaware to remove any and all spyware/malware.

I would bet that if you just cruised the internet you would eventually get that same popup.

Superchunk is probably right I've never seen a popup like that on Firefox and even nowadays for IE its rare unless a computer is infected with some kind of virus/spyware. Last time I saw popups like that was about a year ago on a computer of my aunts that had the worst adaware scan results I've ever seen in my life some 1300 objects or something -_- . I've heard of worse but its hard to imagine.

I don't have that, but i had a popup yesterday. It was a flash popup, didn't see what was in it, because i use flashblock.

Hmm got it with IE as well. This website is dangerous for evey computer it looks like, as the ad only pops up when you open this website. I don't have it elsewhere. Plus it doesn't matter what kind of browser you have.

I think you might still be infected with the virus that was plaguing the site for the last few weeks as far as I can tell its gone now and ioi has the site completely clean but it can still be on your computer locally. Might be that it waits for you to visit Vgchartz then tells windows to open a popup in whatever the default browser is but a visit here doesn't seem to be attempting to deliver any virii anymore.

Im on firefox, i shut one of the thread windows (had multiple tabs open) and then all of a sudden im asked if i want to install drive cleaner. I of course clicked cancel and then it tried to take me to the site anyway and i stopped it. Ive seen it before in IE so i know how to avoid it, but a lot of ppl dont and it is very nasty.

Don't click cancel on those things. Computers don't know that the button says 'cancel', well they no that, but they don't understand what that represents to humans. Cancel is still registered as a click. On pop-ups like that always hit ALT + F4, or Apple + Q, or whatever.

Hell, on some adverts it can even trigger something when the page closes, so closing the window wouldn't
really help there.

I'don't think, it's a popup ad, but i'm not sure. Maybe, i can do a photo.
