Describe the mess and give details. I would like to know what you are referring to.

Again, that's not the argument. I am not arguing that they should or shouldn't pay them. I am arguing that saying they are more competitive if they do, is bullshit.
Funny how the same people who love Obama, defend him when he says these outlandish things.
I guess love is blind.

No Mafoo. Change just needs more hope
Really guys how many times are you going to pull the whole "Well, it's Bush's fault bro" routine? Obama has had 100+ days and as they say on the Hill the ball is in his hands now, act accordingly.

The thing is, I don't think Obama is some kind of messiah or anything. But, Heck, Bush handled things so poorly that it would take Jesus Christ himself two to three terms to straighten out the mess Bush made of things.
And Mccain / Palin would have gone down the same path as Bush but even farther.
I don't see, where there is the problem to close loopholes and bring some taxation-justice back in your system.
I hear all the complaints around here and from my middle-class-US-friends, that they pay to much taxes and that it is injustice, that they pay such a huge amount of the total tax money. But then it is wrong to tax companies fairer, when they're based in the US, rely on all the infrastructure, education, law system and safety provided by the USA but don't pay their fair amount for it.
That the companies complain is there right to, and off course you would as well, but from your point as a tax-payer you really can't be on the side of their complaints.
Don't worry too much about creating a lack of competitiveness, because this is what first world countries are fighting for for years.
And this actually may lead to lower taxes for you!
Lesser loopholes => more taxes overall paid => great chances to lower the taxes without creating a massive deficit
So you as a taxpayer have great chances to pay less taxes soon.

Business A pays $50,000 a year in taxes. Business B pays $0 a year in taxes.
Business B has a competitive advantage over A thanks to tax avoidance. Closing the loophole that gives B its unfair advantage allows A to better compete against B.
It's not a matter of making one more competitve as much as it is about leveling the playing field.
You could increase competitiveness while eliminating tax loopholes but that is certainly not what Obama is doing (or any politician is suggesting) ...
The more complicated your tax code is the more loopholes exist the greater the expense for companies and individuals to manage their finances and to make long term plans; and the more overhead and waste there is for the government to collect their money. If the government stopped trying to play favourites and created a simple, straightforward and predictable tax system it would make a country much more competitive.
I wonder if this would have been on fox news if he was demanding corporations stop illegally hiring illegal alieas and gave this sort of strong language.
The competiveness thing is ridiculous.

A good example of this would be to remove the corporation tax all together and taxing goods and services at point of sale or point of production correct? (or both.)

In my opinion, the best thing to do would be to eliminate business and sales tax altogether and introduce a large, progressive income tax.
