It is undeniable that these player are all good but Gerrard??? complete? When every single movement of a team goes through one very good player it is hard for them not to look complete.

Defensively he is meh, pace average, skill average, one on ones average.

Now there are areas that he absolutely shines in, such as his long shots, his through balls and his exceptional long balls.

The reason Gerrard plays shit for england is because his team positioning is beyond shit. If he is constrained to play in position he is just awful. Him and Lampard play in a similar way, though gerrard is more of a well rounded player. Now add Joe cole and Ashley cole in the mix for England and you have a team that gets completely over run on the counter.

When Gerrard plays for liverpool he pretty much has a licence to roam anywhere and he thouroughly deserves it. For England, he does not mix well with the rest of the team because they do not have the ability work well as a team.

 Beware, next thing you'll be saying that Pelé was better than Maradona(wich he was) and there will be blood.

Btw, I 'm divided about the Champions League final, I like both teams, since they are great, but wich one should I support. I don't like Cristiano, cause he is too full of himself, but I like Rooney. At the same time I like Messi, despite the fact he's Argentino and Eto'o is an Awesome player. AS football fans, wich are your opinions? (Footballfan is Liverpool, so logically he'l support Barça)

The CL semi between Chelsea and Barca only had 2 goals but there was so much drama, emotions and heartache that makes all other sports hand their heads in shame. There were 2 goals, one at the beginning and one at the end, 1 dubious red card, 5 penalty claims that were worngly not given and so much shouting and swearing it would have casued the FCC to close the channel if Sky Sports was broadcasting in the US.

The only sport that comes close is Basketball when the two teams are equal in strength, otherwise it becomes too one-sided.

Edit: I think it is generally true that if you never watched two good teams playing you wouldn't understand its appeal, which is generally the case with Americans
