Forums - Sony - Rumor: New Persona Game At E3, Exculsive to PS3

While I do expect P5 to be a PS3 game (maybe multiplat with 360) it's almost certainly NOT going to be anounced at E3. E3 is for Western games or very big Japanese ones, not niche JRPGs.

E3 is the one show where also the mainstream press is there. Sony needs to show its big guns. GT5, GoW3, MAG, Ratchet, Uncharted 2 etc. P5 would be drowned in that violence.

Apprently, Atlus recently released a statement that they're done working with the PS2. So I guess that adds more cred to this rumor. :O

Prediction:

TGS this year for PS3 will be amazing.

Grandia comes to PSN(PSone classic).

First Versus gameplay this year.

The Adventures Of Duane and Brando

Link? Or at the very least where you heard that.

I can't find anything on their website.

Though Class of Hereos really makes me want to get a PSP.

Looks really oldschool.

Personally I'm not sure why anyone is taking this rumor to heart.

This is from a blog that nobody's heard of and no other major sites are reporting this rumor...so I don't get why everyone's all giddy for it.

Like, wanting P5 for the PS3 is one thing and it has its credibility, but believing this specific rumor is pretty laughable.

Well Persona 4 did come out at breakneck speed from the release of P3.  Everyone was outright shocked.

Likely it was because Atlus wanted to cash in on the PS2 while it still could just because it is so unsure about what to do with this.

It's why I think PSP is most likely... Persona remake may in fact be a test to see if there is a crossover base... or if there isn't... if they will buy PSPs for the game.

I mean... if Atlus makes a mistep.  They're screwed.

An Atlus/Persona fanboy on another forum :O. That's why I said "apprently". :P

I'm excited for Class of Heroes too! That and Crimson Gem Saga make for a good start to the summer!

Persona on PS3? not gonna happen. Atlus have financial troubles and is not a rich company to begin with.
Persona 5 would go either psp or wii. hd twins? very unlikely.
considering Persona 1 port on psp i would say that it was their attempt to know their fanbase on sony handheld and possible buyers of future Personas.

That doesn't make sense.

If Disgaea 3 can be made for the PS3, then there is absolutely no reason why Persona can't make the jump to the PS3.Yes, I know Nippon-Ichi released the game at least in the U.S. but it's a PS2 niche series that made the leap to the PS3 effectively with nobody losing their jobs over it.

yeah but Disgaea 3 is 2d and could be released on all last gen console without any problem. if we're talking about atelier rorona it looks like last gen game as well. not to mention that both are fairly niche titles so they can go away with that, but here we are talking about Persona game and people already are saying that it should be sandbox game.

if anyone thinks that its normal for Persona to go on ps3 then tell me why Harvest Moon didn't go there yet? Persona is simply not suited on ps3 - not to mention that sales of jrps on ps3 were so far not good at best - while wii games with similar sales can bring profit to its developer ps3 game will end up as a total disaster.

So just because it's 2-D, it could be released on last-gen systems? That's a laugh. Both types of games(2-D and 3-D) use a system in completey different ways. And Rorona in no way looks like a last-gen game.

Rorona could be done on a last gen system from a technical prespective.  So can ToV though.

The opinions about the rumor are black and white at this point.  We should grey them up a little bit.  I think Persona 5 could be announced at E3 but that's only because chances of the game being revealed at TGS is no more probable than being revealed at E3.  Persona 3 and 4 were revealed in a magazine and not an event.

True... but if someone really was paying for the game.  Don't you think said person might want to reveal it themselves where it will have a big impact.

If Persona 5 gets announced, I'm expecting Atlus to be the ones presenting it, not necessarily at Sony's conference though.

Also, Atlus don't really do multiplatform releases unless you count Persona and Growlanser going to the PSP as porting but I think they're remakes but I'm not sure.

If Sony would take the time to present it, that's the best possible advertising the game will ever get. Not sure why they wouldn't bite if the oppurtunity arose.

@ Soriku

That's the most logical, but the biggest bang would be at Sony's conference at E3.

i just hope the next comes out for 360 as well, because i really love P3, but i dont wanna have to buy a PS3 for it
