Forums - Gaming - Hmm.. Am I first one to say Valkyria Chronicles was disappointment?

OP is right, Folklore is a much better story that Valkyrie Chronicles - I love mind fu** stories.

Spoilers: Keits was actually a figment of Elens imagination similar to how Scarecrow was a figment of Cecilias imagination. They were both created from a desire, the only puzzle I'm left with was is the town in the netherworld and if the rules were to be taken seriously then who's memories was Ellen seeing for herself or with Keits. Because at no point could a real human see Scarecrow in Dublin but they could all interact with Keats.

Now that is a hell of an ending to be left with. ^_^

Just finished it...I'm gonna write review later but..

So many has said that Valkyria Chronicles was best game in 2008, hyped it to par with Metal Gear Solid 4, even Vgchartz gave it 9.4, so thats why I was really expectin huge from it (like with Lbp).

I'm god dam big Jprg and RTS game fan so I thought this would awesome.. But it is good game no question about it but,am I only one who thinks it was dissapointment?

It's a pretty ringing damned endorsement of a game when someone who was disappointed by it still says "But it is good game no question about it".

Makes me even more sure that this is the game I'm going to get first when I buy my PS3.

The only game I've played that I think is in a similar ball park is Kessen (PS2). I liked Kessen a lot, as short as it was. "Let my Tonbogiri be your passage to HELLLLLL!!!". Not so much RPG, but plenty of strategy.

I loved Kessen, but prefered Kessen II unlike many people I think the magic spells add a lot to the strategy and were pretty fun to watch, plus it was great to be able to charge the ennemy lines in real time.  Thinking about it, maybe you have to be a sucker for strategy games to really enjoy VC.

The lack of magicky stuff was something I enjoyed about Kessen, but that's not to say the inclusion of it would ruin the sequel, as long as it wasn't too overpowered. But alas I never got the chace to try out Kessen II, and now my PS2 is in the care of my nephew I may never get the chance.

It would be freaky if it was the Claire's. (The little girl in the Pub owners home.)

At the same time she had so little to do with the story that it would make sense.
