True achievements? Is that not an outside site that conducts that service for you?

Just look at your sig, there is no point talking to you.
Any evidence contrary to you own opinions are going to be ignored. Even what I just said, you will ignore that you ignore.

Why would i ignore what you said?

But seem as you say theres no point talking to me then perhaps the feeling is mutual.

@ ronster: not talking about ms or sony, just in general:

a difficult prize (whether it's a bronze one, only gives you x2 or whatever) is a difficult one. Does it really matter whether someone else can fap to your 1.62 ratio or to your 7 platinum thingies?

Difficult-to-get ones will be known by fans anyway, regardless of their status.

At least, that's what I think... just want to hear your opinion ^^

I just like the concept of a score above the one you have.

Maybe it doesn't matter to some people wether they can or can not beat a persons 1.62 or 7 platinums ect, but based on the growth of true achievements it would appear that it does matter to some.

Difficult ones will be known yes, but true achievements just has a different take on it.

I find the wealth of stats and rankings quite appealing, thats just me.

I had a look at the site and it seems to me everything is overinflated.

Even very easy games worth 1k achievements are worth 1.2k or more on that site...

The site takes no account at all of interlocking achievements too.

So if a game has  3 medium hard achievements that somehow gets unlocked by doing close to the same thing, all 3 will have a high points value...

And as for score, gimme a break, PSN level is exactly like the gamerscore...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

@ Ail

All games will have over 1000 because the points system is based on the existing points available for each game.

eg if completing silent hill on hard difficulty achievement is worth 100 gamerscore, then the true achievement score has to be minimum 100 aswell (but is actually worth around 195 gamerscore on the site because it's not a cake walk)

on the other hand, if you get 5 gamerscore for creating a character in say smackdown vs raw then the score you will get from true achievements will also be 5 points.

the harder the achievement the more points you get on top of what that particular achievement is already worth.

Sure, you might think its overinflated, but i like all the stats available to me.

No problem :)

For me, it's just "hmm, that trophy (since I don't have an xbox, I can't talk about achievements) seems do-able, let's try", that's all. It is satisfying when I get a silver or gold one, but in the end, I don't really go out collecting them, although I do see their appeal.

And I can understand that the more choices you have (which seems to be the case with TA), the more fun it can get :) Oh well, as long as the games that deliver the achievements - trophies are fun ^^

and
there
goes
the
thread

Purley opinion. I for one love the trophies. I buy games just because they have them. I also dont buy games because they dont. I have purchased a number of games that I would have never bought had they not included trophy support. As for the time it takes to load a level vs looking at your trophies, the PS3 is very fast at loading levels so no surprise there that it is done before you. I have no issue with the trophies loading as it only takes a second. The other issue is perceived worth. Trophies are given based on an accomplishment. If it is an easy accomplishment, you get a bronze trophy, slightly harder you get a silver and so on. Just because you suck and get only bronze doesn't mean the trophy system is flawed.

It was supposed to have been connected to Home. That would of been great and made that article perhaps been in reverse. Praising Sony's Trophy's. Oh, well it's still good to have.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.
