I would be much more likely to buy a game if I had a chance to play the demo. People may be turned off from a game because of the demo, but then again, they may decide to make a purchase.
The demos aren't hurting 360 software sales, so Nintendo's conservatism may be hurting more than helping.

every one of those games is terrible, why make demos and then charge people money?

i liked the demo disk that came with merio kart doubledash. [it had like 5 demos, and a buchs of trailers on it]. i think it would be nice if nintendo tried this again on a first party title.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6). This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.
