Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 repair Questions

Recently, my 360 crapped out. I sent my console to microsoft 2 weeks ago and today I got an email notifying me that they received my console. I had some questions concerning the repair.

1) Do they fix my console and send it back to me? Or they just send a replacement console?

2) Also if they do send me a replacemant console, will I get a North American console or a japanese one? (I have a japanese 360 but I live in Canada)

They will more than likely send you a new or newly refurbished unit with all of the recent "fixes" to prevent known current failures. My DVD drive crapped out and though they could have simply swapped the DVD out for a new one, I got a NEW unit that was manufactured about two weeks before I got it... If you have a Japanese one and sent it in to microsoft from outside the region, that might be an issue... I'd call the 1800 number and ask on that one...

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

@ kn

You think being out of region will be a problem; when I check my repair status its says my warranty is still valid.

I don't know if they will have an issue with you having a non-NA X360. However, it's doubtful you'd be getting a JPN X360 back, unless you told them.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

@ Stickball

I didn't tell them. So I should be gettinng an american console.

Thanks for the help.
