Forums - Nintendo - Does anyone ever had to repair their DS?

My DS hinge broke. I ended up playing it until it broke completely. For just over $100 it's not really worth the time and effort trying to get repaired. I just tossed it in the trash and got another one the next time I stopped in a WalMart.

It depends on the problem.

If it's within warranty, they'll fix it fast and free.

Otherwise it's still pretty cheap, unless they're replacing a broken screen.

If it's a shoulder button, they can just pop it out, clean it, put in a new one.

My shoulder buttons on my DS Lite both stop working all the time, and I have to pull them halfway out, blow into them, and shove them back into place. But I treat it like shit, so I deserve it. I've been lugging it around the world and dropping it everywhere for years.

I never had to.....

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Yea my L button, touch screen, and power button were totally fucked.

A friend gave me the DS so I just registered it at Nintendo.com and said warranty was still good so did everything online and I didnt have to pay a thing because it was still covered by warranty.

So if your warranty is still good you dont have to pay a thing just do it online and they give you a shipping ticket thing to print out and tape to the DS youre gonna mail in.

I sent it on a Sunday got it back Friday same week. :D

Broken screen is pretty easy to replace yourself. It is quite cheap too.
