It's the average for the past 11 months + the month you are looking. That's what each point represents.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

The Wii is about down to what the PS2 went and then started back up. So, if it follows right then the Wii should start sky rocketing soon, probably in about 2 months...
The PS2 was supply constrained at that time.

Ironic? That doesn't make sense? Sarcastic, maybe, but it's hard to display sarcasm with words unless you make it extremely obvious. |
While it is important to know the Japanese sales...The reality is that Japanese game makers have slowed their production rates and the ones that have not have quite a few flops in thier porfolio...Non japanese Companies are taking center stage in this console war.....So it's kinda of ok to not care about Jap sales....
PS3 - Lack of games made this one go from great start to long slump, seems to be picking up now
Wii - Lack of both first and third party titles has all but told the core gamer to not buy one, still though, it should be selling on non-gamer power
PSP - Its still selling very well, we cant expect MH boost to last forever
DS - Well more than 20% of all people in Japan own one, so i think its a case of Nintendo running out of people to sell too!
360 - Selling better, but not exactly stable
With everyone disappointing, what more could you expect?

Actually its the total of the 12 months up to each point. If a console sells 1000 per month on average, it will be represented by the number 12,000.
Tease.
Wow, the Wii really is in freefall...
Maybe they should release some big games.
