Forums - Gaming - Why is there damage in Forza but not GT?

It's not in GT because (so far) the developers haven't added it. Pretty simple I'd say. As to why? Licensing, lack of desire, don't want to risk changing a winning formula? Who knows.

Off Topic - Starcraft I notice you asking someone in another thread if they were stealth trolling by comparing Velvet Assassin as a 360 exclusive vs inFamous - aren't you a wee bit guilty of the same offense here?

Reading through it seems what you wanted to post but didn't is that you believe Forza is superior to GT and are implying that GT is no longer keeping up due to lack of damage and that people should be switching from GT to Froza.

If you think that just put it in, don't be cryptic. I'm sure many players think Forza is better. However due to brand and market awareness it'll probably sell less than GT. That's the breaks - many a better game sells less than more established franchises, its the nature of the industry (note I'm not saying which is better - I don't play either much so I wouldn't deign to judge).

If you were just idly curious about the difference then accept my apology in advance for implying otherwise.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Polyphony is somewhat of a perfectionist company, they want an excellent damage system like the one in Grid, and to implement that on 700+ cars is going to be incredibly time consuming and difficult.

I've beat Forza 2 and the damage system is a joke, you drive straight into a wall at 180mph and the car just slides along the wall for like 2km's. It's a terrible system, even the cosmetics are weak. You can do a full on brake-stand burnout for 5 minutes and your tires won't blow

If you want a game with a good damage system, play Grid or Dirt, but even these aren't up to the standard of Polyphony.

i hate the damage in forza personally... i dont think a series like forza or gt needs it to be honest leave that to games like burnout or whatever

t it ruins online play. Thats why Forza 2 is leagues ahead of GT5P for online play. GT5P = destruction derby. Forza 2 = majoronline racing. And thats becasue of no damage in GT5P. The cosmetics of Forza 2's damage is crap. But the consequences to losing your engine, drivability etc is top dog. It makes you play properly online.

No, no it isn't.

If my car still runs after driving into a wall at 100mph then its not "top dog"

I mean for making you not want to hit opponents online. Just becasue GT5P doesnt have it, doesnt make it unecessary. Face it. GT5P is anything but a driving simulator online. Fine offline, but online it's Gran Turismo Kart.

cause polyphony digital is too lazy to do anything more than bumping up graphics? seriously this saries didn't change much or at all since psx era so what do you expect?

lol at no damage.

If GT5 gets damage I'll get it, but if it doesn't there's no way I buy it.

Because teh cell repairs the cars as they drive!! who needs a pit stop

Long Live SHIO!
