That are due to the large amount of consoles being sold, which is what the OP is about.
Based on this (or be it last) weeks charts:
The average top 20 Wii game is 49 weeks old (excluding Wii sports),
the average top 20 X360 game is 27 weeks old,
the average top 20 ps3 game is 18 weeks old.
This shows in any case that the top selling games on the Wii generally have longer legs than those of other consoles, irrespective of the difference of sales between consoles.

You have to factor in new releases as well. That will skew the data.

Yes, Wii games have legs as do every other console. These legs are nothing out of the ordindary and will rise and fall with console sales.
How many games does an average new console purchaser get when he/she purchases a new console?
Is there any data on this? Its extremely important to know this if we want to continue discussing this theory.
Tease.

Unsure, but from my retail experience, at least 2 to 3 games were bought on a normal week with a console sale.
During the holiday, I saw people buying an average of 4-6 games with the console purchase.

Thats interesting, so what do most new Wii owners do? Do they grab one or two mainline Nintendo titles like Wii Play and Mario Kart and then maybe 1-2 other games, chosen based on taste and what grabs them visually?

I dont get the point of this thread...you just explained to us why Wii games have better legs than the other consoles. Thanks for that.
Not much of a reality check though...we already knew it

Which gamerace debunked noting that such an analysis is only true for the "system sellers"... and that many games behave differently.
Meaning the analysis basically only took into account one type of game.
