Forums - Nintendo - Any Wii first or third person shooters on the near-term horizon?

I know a lot of people hated it, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed Red Steel and I'm looking for something similar.  I love the control scheme (MP3 uses the same one) where you look/aim with the wiimote and go forward/backward/strafe left-right with the 'chuck.  I'll be a purchaser of Redsteel 2 regardless of reviews.

Is there anything out there right now on the market that is a solid FPS/TPS experience or anything coming up soon?

The Godfather: Blackhand Edition is a solid game.

Well Medal of Honor 2 or whatever is getting notice because of its 32 player online...that's in...October though? Otherwise I'm not sure what the other shooters are.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

There's Brothers in Arms and Batallion Wars II Coming out in the next couple of months. No idea how good the former will be and the latter has been so low profile lately, I suspect a delay. Perhaps not, though.

I've got godfather blackhand. I just started playing it, but it seemed more like a GTA type sandbox game. Is it really a FPS/TPS shooter? If so, I'll put it back in and give it some more time...

Oh, and I should have added that I liked redsteel for its linear nature as well.  I'm not a big fan of wandering around solving puzzles, pulling levers to open remote doors, etc.  Therefore sandbox games don't appeal to me.  I tried GTA for about an hour and took it back...

Currently on the market Metal of Honor and Call of Duty 3. Havn't played them but reviewers say MoH is prettier but CoD3 controls a little better. Both are suppose to be better than Red Steel, but Metroid has now blown them away in both departments.
IGN says the new MoH:Heroes controls as well as Metroid, and is online too!

BTW: I'll be getting Red Steel 2 as well.

I realy can´t play any FPS on the Wii that have worse controlles than Metroid, Red Steel was good for a release game though, if 2 has Metroid style controlls and better swordfights it will be a must get.

Godfather is a sandbox game.

Metroid Prime 3, Medal of Honor Heros 2, and Battalion Wars 2 would be your best bets. All three are being raved about everywhere and MoH2 is actually get mentioned as best console controls, next only to keyboard/mouse. IGN said it rivals if not better than MP3's controls.

It's got a customizable box where the screen won't move but the pointer will, which I think is how it should've been done since day one.

I bet battalion wars is getting a delayed to first quarter 2008 I just don't see it's realese this year

My dog is way beyond my ranking list than you.
