Forums - General - Recommend me some Anime!

I'm not a big Anime person, in Fact, I just recently tried to watch some...

I've only watched about 3 in my life(Dragon Ball Z, and Inuyasha). The most recent one was Death Note, and it was uber awesomeness! ^_^

Since I'm trying to get into it, can any of y'all tell me some good ones? Where to watch 'em will also be helpfull...

Oh and, one kinda similar to Death Note would be awesome, I really liked Death Note...

Code Geass is very similar to death note in how it revolves around deception and subterfuge. But this one has mechs! :P

I always recommend Baccano! to people that like action animes, but that's assuming you can deal with subtitles.

^ I've heard good things about Code Geass but, how long is it?

Well it has two seasons, so it is either 26 or 52, I can't remember how long each season was.

That's pretty good...
I don't really want to see a super long one.

Looked it up, it's 52 episodes. Was a great anime, here's a place to stream it if you so care to, but it is subbed not dubbed on this particular website.

Thanks. ^_^

I don't mind subbed, I like the original voices better... >_>

As it should be. Subbed is nearly always the better choice. There are a few exceptions where the dubbed is as good as, and almost preferable to subbed though. The Irresponsible Captain Tylor is such an example. I recommend it. Great show, though the art style is a bit old now... I still like it. ^_^

ahhh....well knowing you don't mind Subbed gives me leeway to recommend some others.

Baccano! is fantastic for action anime, and it's 13 episodes.

Toradora and "Spice and Wolf" are great romantic comedy type animes that stray from the norm for that genre.

Haruhi and Lucky Star are both hilarious and cute

Zetsubou Sensei is amazing if you're willing to put up with all the pausing and reading to keep up with how fast they talk

That's all I've got off the top of my head.

I recommend against Lucky Star.  In fact, Lucky Star is probably one of the worst anime you could watch right now.
