Everytime I delete my history and cookies etc, it resets to Gaming/sales, which causes me to missout on alot of off topic threads. Shouldn't the default be all, and filtering be optional?

No, the filter was added to keep the off topic section out of view by default for non-users. This is a gaming/sales website so we keep the gaming/sales stuff up front.

So why are you deleting your cookies so often, hmmmm? :-p

Because when someone comes to the first time, without noticing all the little details, we want them to see that we're all about games, not just saying something about the poster above us.

Incidentally, in this case the above poster seems to love Smash Bros and Lelouch Vi Britannia.

Well, can we at least have it as a profile option so that when we change it, and delete history, then log in, it will keep that setting, just like how many posts we want displayed on each page of a thread?

good luck convincing any of the website coders to do that one. It is easier for you to click the link

Also, there is often times borderline inappropriate material in the off-topic forum, and is this stuff you would expect to see on a video game sales tracking website ("Are you still a Virgin" thread comes to mind)?

I think more people would agree with me, that when we change it to all, it should be saved as a preference for our profile, but if you don't change it, you will still only see Gaming/Sales.

Because the entire off-topic section is for film and anime discussions, politics, lolcats, and peeing in the shower.
