Forums - General - Need Help - TROJAN Viruses

Basically, someone in my house downloaded some shit that has my computer swarming with viruses. Thought I had it under control, but then they came back with a venegance.

The Full Scan of Norton detects nothing anymore, but about every 30 seconds I get a notification that a high risk Trojan was blocked by Auto-Scan. I look for the location that this took place in, and it is nowhere that I can access.

Any advice?

This is the best software you can find:

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

The J man finds that the best solution to fix this is to yell at your computer but since your not holy and if you think its ok , you should do a simple system restore  to a date you think is before you got the trojan.(if you have an xp or vista)

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

I would say try AVG or Kaspersky like others have said. Both are much better than Norton imo. If it doesn't work then backup what you need on your HDD(make sure what you backup isn't infected) and reinstall windows.

when you get a notification of a trojan next time, write down the name of the trojan, search online for information on the trojan, you might find a guide on how to remove it manually.

Kaspersky is kinda stalled with downloading, going to see how that goes. Ran Regdit and think I can find some of the files, just waiting for my Norton Security History to work.

System restores will not fix trojans/viruses. Most are smart enough to infect all your restore files. This also means you should probably turn off Sys-restore.

One you are infected, there is no guarantee you will ever get all the infections with scanning. Only a total system format will give you real piece of mind.
